Events
At iNOVA Media Lab, we currently nurture three main events aimed at internationalization, collaboration, and towards a more open public engagement in digital media research:
Digital Media Summer Institute: Held in June and July, intensive hands-on workshops on cinematic and interactive media topics, in partnership with UT Austin faculty and industry experts.
Digital Media Winter Institute / SMART Data Sprint: Held in the last week of January and the first week of February, the Digital Media Winter Institute has two moments: the SMART Data Sprint, and workshops that attend digital methods approach.
SMART Data Sprint: An intensive hands-on work, driven by online data and digital methods. We adopt experimental and inventive ways of reading, seeing and analysing platform data, with the aim of responding to a set of research questions. For one week, participants will have the chance to attend keynote lectures, short talks, and parallel sessions of practical labs. After that, experts and scholars will invite participants to join projects and work in a collective problem.
