Digital Media (PhD)
Daniela de Lacerda is a Brazilian journalist studying in Lisbon, one of the three cities she calls home – for now. Born in Recife, she also has a on and off relationship with São Paulo, where she lived and worked for many years. This approach to life is reflected on her work: Daniela is driven by new experiences and studies inovation. For her Master in Journalism (completed in 2016, at Universidade Federal de Pernambuco), she presented a research project about independent digital media organizations. Now, as a PhD student at NOVA University of Lisbon, she enhances and deepens the scope of this investigation. As a journalist in Brazil, she worked for newspapers and magazines (Editora Abril, Diario de Pernambuco and Jornal do Commercio), mainly as an editor. She has also worked as PR manager and producer for the writter Ariano Suassuna, one of the main storytellers in Brazil, during one of his mandates as Secretary of Culture for Pernambuco.
