New Media and Web Practices (MA)

Carol Delmazo is a Brazilian journalist born in Belo Horizonte, the capital of the state Minas Gerais, where people are called “mineiros”. As a typical “mineira”, she loves to tell, and to listen to good stories. She has spent the most of her 12-year career as a reporter, producer and TV presenter, as well as working on websites. The most special moment was covering the FIFA 2014 World Cup and the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In addition to her professional work in Brazil, she also worked in Madrid in 2010 as a culture writer for the Spanish TV channel “Cuatro” and 24h TV channel “CNN+”, as part of the Balboa Program for Young Iberoamerican Journalists.

She is currently taking the Master’s Degree course in New Media and Web Practices, at the Nova University of Lisbon, in Portugal. Carol is crazy about sports, traveling, new languages and new challenges. Lisbon is her seventh city, after living (not in this order) in Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, Brasília and Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil, and also in Salamanca and Madrid in Spain. From her hometown, she misses her piano a lot, and the festivals of Forró (a genre of Brazilian music originated in Northeastern part of the country).
